Tumbledown!

Need a hand?

Write to us: tumbledown.support@gmail.com

Please tell us your iPhone model, its iOS version, the game version (at the bottom of the game's Settings, for example "v1.1 (3)") and what happened. A screenshot helps a lot. We read every message and answer as soon as we can.

Questions and answers

How do I play?

Tap anywhere on the tower and the cannon fires a ball through that point. Knock every piece off the table before your balls run out. The fewer balls you use, the more stars you earn, and every ball left over bursts into coins.

Special balls appear in the tray above the cannon: tap one to load it for your next shot. A Splitter Ball splits into three if you tap again while it flies.

Is my progress saved?

Yes, automatically, on your iPhone. There is no account and no cloud save.

  • Updating the game keeps your progress.
  • Deleting the game deletes your progress, and it cannot be brought back.
  • Moving to a new iPhone: restoring a full backup of your old iPhone usually brings the game's data with it.
  • No Ads is tied to your Apple Account, not to the save: on a new iPhone or after reinstalling, tap Restore Purchases (see below).
Do I need the internet?

No. The whole game is inside the app and plays offline, even in airplane mode. Videos for rewards and the ads between levels need a connection: offline, there is simply no video to watch, and the coin options still work.

There is no sound
  • In the game, tap the gear and check that Sound and Music are on.
  • The game follows your iPhone's silent mode: if the Ring/Silent switch or the Action button is set to silent, the game is quiet. Turn silent mode off and raise the volume.
  • Music from another app keeps playing while you play; the game's sounds mix in with it.
I don't feel any vibration
  • In the game, tap the gear and check that Vibration is on.
  • On your iPhone, open Settings → Sounds & Haptics and make sure System Haptics is on.
How do lives work?

You have up to five lives. Losing a level, or quitting one, costs a life, and a new life comes back every 30 minutes. You can also refill all five for 900 coins in the Shop. When you are out of lives, you can watch a short video for one life: Watch video: +1 Life (when a video is ready). Losing a Daily Shot or a Spooky Fest level costs no life.

How do I get coins? Can I buy them?

Coins are earned by playing: winning a level, balls left over, new stars, the Daily Shot, festival gifts and beating a boss. Spend them on rockets, extra balls when you run out ("Play On") or a lives refill. When you run out of balls, you can also get the +5 balls by watching a short video instead of paying coins (once per try). You can also buy coin packs and a one-time Starter Pack (5,000 coins and 3 Rocket Boosters) in the Shop. They are in-app purchases through the App Store, and buying is always optional.

When do ads appear?
  • Videos for rewards are always your choice: Watch a video when you run out of balls (+5 balls) and Watch video: +1 Life when you are out of lives. You get the reward when the video ends.
  • Ads between levels start at level 20: after about every third level you finish, and sometimes after you beat a hard level, a short ad plays when you leave the result screen. Never during a level, never in the first minute after you open the game, never within two minutes of another ad or video (even if you close and reopen the game in between), and never in the Daily Shot or Spooky Fest.
  • There are no banner ads.

Ads keep the game free. If you would rather not see the ads between levels, see "What does No Ads do?".

What does No Ads do?

No Ads is a one-time purchase in the Shop. It removes the ads between levels for good, on every iPhone signed in with the same Apple Account (use Restore Purchases there). Videos for rewards stay: they are optional, so you can still watch one for +5 balls or +1 life whenever you like, or never.

A video did not give me my reward

The reward (+5 balls or +1 life) arrives when the video has played to the end. The video buttons work only when a video is ready: otherwise they are greyed out and say "No video right now", and the coin options are still there. If you close a video early or it fails to load, nothing is taken from you, and you can try again later. Videos need an internet connection.

The sound did not come back after an ad

The game turns its sound back on after every ad, with your own Sound and Music settings. If it ever stays quiet, check the steps under "There is no sound" above, then close the game from the app switcher and open it again (your progress is saved after every level), and please tell us what happened.

How do I report a bad ad?

In the game, tap the gear and then Report an Ad. It opens an email to us with the details of the last ad already filled in (the ad network and the ad's ID), so we can find it and have it blocked. Add a line about what was wrong and, if you can, a screenshot. Nothing is sent until you press Send. If Mail is not set up on your iPhone, write to tumbledown.support@gmail.com with the time you saw the ad and what it showed.

Why does the game ask about tracking? Can I change my answer?

When you first open the game, on its main screen before you play a level, iOS asks whether Tumbledown! may track your activity across other companies' apps and websites, for more personal ads. In Europe, the UK and Switzerland, a consent form from Google comes first (if you choose Do not consent there, iOS does not ask); elsewhere Google may first show a short explanation of the question. Your answers change nothing in the game: no reward, nothing locked, and the ads appear either way (less personal if you say no).

  • Tracking (once iOS has asked): on your iPhone, open Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking and switch Tumbledown! on or off.
  • In the game, tap the gear, then Privacy Choices: in Europe, the UK and Switzerland it shows the consent form again; elsewhere it opens your iPhone's Settings app, where you go to Privacy & Security → Tracking.

I bought coins but did not get them

Coins are added the moment the App Store confirms the purchase. If the game was closed or lost its connection during a purchase, open it again with an internet connection: the App Store hands the purchase to the game again and it is added once. If a parent has to approve purchases (Ask to Buy), the coins arrive after the approval.

Payments, receipts and refunds are handled by Apple: see your purchases at reportaproblem.apple.com. If coins are still missing, email us with the date of the purchase and the pack you bought.

Where is "Restore Purchases"?

At the bottom of the Shop, and in Settings (the gear). It asks the App Store which purchases your Apple Account owns and turns No Ads back on, for example on a new iPhone or after reinstalling the game. Use the same Apple Account you bought it with.

Coin packs and the Starter Pack cannot be restored: their coins (and rockets) are added to your game on this iPhone as soon as you buy them and are used up in play. Your coins live in the game's save on your iPhone, so deleting the app also deletes them.

What are the festival, the Daily Shot and Spooky Fest?
  • The festival (from level 16): the stars you earn build a festival on your Home screen. Tap the festival badge to build the next piece.
  • The Daily Shot (from level 20): one new level every day, the same for every player. It changes at midnight on your iPhone's clock. Win it on consecutive days to grow your streak.
  • Spooky Fest (from level 30): a Halloween event from October 22 to November 4 every year, by your iPhone's date, with 20 special levels, pumpkins to catch and the Pumpkin Ball to win. You can switch events off in Settings → Events.

Lives, the Daily Shot and events follow your iPhone's date and time, so changing them changes the game too.

The game paused when I left it

That is on purpose: when you leave the app during a level (a call, Control Center, going Home), the level pauses so you never lose a shot. Close the pause menu to carry on.

Can I stop the rating pop-up?

The rating prompt is Apple's, and it appears at most a few times a year. To turn it off for every app, open Settings → App Store on your iPhone and switch off In-App Ratings & Reviews.

Which devices does it run on?

Tumbledown! is made for iPhone and plays in portrait. It needs the iOS version shown on its App Store page. On an iPad it runs in iPhone mode and turns with the iPad.

The game froze or looks wrong

Close it from the app switcher (swipe up from the bottom and hold, then swipe the game away) and open it again. Your progress is saved after every level. If it keeps happening, please email us with the details above.
